No. There is no WinSOCK NNTP server available currently. You
could run KA9Q on a spare DOS PC as an NNTP server. If you can
wait a few months, Trumpet Software International is actively
looking into developing high performance TCP/UDP servers that
run in protected mode. One of these is very likely to be an
NNTP server.

And do not have any other file with the name HOSTS on your
path before the directory that contains the desired HOSTS file.

I've found a decent dialer program that beats the pants off Trumpet's dialer.
it's ftp://winftp.cica.indiana.edu/pub/pc/win3/winsock/goslip11.zip
It's a VB app, so it's a little slow to start up but it's easy to set up,
and has really nice scripting capablilities.
I'd say give it a try.

Subject: GoSlip and W4W3.11 Beta TCP Stack
I am running the April TCP/IP Beta stack for windows for workgroups
3.11 on our local lan. I also got GoSlip from cica.
My question is, how do I tell my applications that they need to run
on the GoSlip connection?
Do I have to uninstall the TCP Stack or should they run together?
Greetings and thanks for any help.
